Hi Fiona

Bus from Faro CITY bus station to Seville and then I would get the train down to Malaga, pretty straight forward.

For the buses read the follwoing post which expalins which bus companies go to Seville from Faro.

Buse Faro to Seville

Then read this post which gives links into the timetable from Seville to Malaga (you may need to change the dates! but the spanish rail website is in English!)

Trains Seville to Malaga

I hope that this helps and that all goes OK.

It would be great to hear from you after your trip to find out how you did it, what it cost, how long it took etc. We can then help other people with similar questions!

Regards

Gary

Travelling with Disabilities at Faro Airport

On Sun Sep 3 17:53 , 'BRENDA BROWN' sent:

Hi Gary
I hope to travel to Portugal next September for the first time.
We have been regular visitors to Spain in Calahonda and up and down the Costa Del Sol for the last ten years.
I have walking difficulties, limited to distance and stairs.I am used to Malaga airport and the buggies they run for the distance from aircraft to baggage claim.
Could you tell me what to expect in Faro airport please and the help for the disabled.
Are there buses from aircraft to gate?,are there buggies from gate to baggage claim?
Its very unnerving making changes Your help would be appreciated.
I'm glad I found the web site, its most helpful.
Thank You
Mrs BRENDA BROWN

Hi Brenda

I have been away travelling for a few days so sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

Faro is similar to Malaga in that some flights dismebark onto internal corriders and some are via a small coach journey.

The airline that you are travelling with SHOULD and WILL organise for assistance to be waiting at the airport for you.

The best thing to do is to go to the airline that you are travelling with and either email them or call them to check what they need you to do. It should be a smooth as Malaga.

One of the areas that I want to expand on our website (www.spanish-airport-guide.com) is a whole section for disabled travellers.

What I would like is a whole page for each airport where travellers with disablilties could post about their experiences and services at each airport. This kind of information is hard to come by and as a passenger WITHOUT a disability it is very difficult to give advice through experience.

If you were kind enough to write a few words about what happens at arrival and departure from Malaga Airport that would get me started on the Malaga Section. and would definately be of assistance to other travellers.

I am sure everything will be fine in Faro just make sure the airline organises it.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards

Gary
